Our European Vacation 2012

Day Seven - Morning Melk, Austria
Click here to see the pictures from Duernstein.
Today was a two-for, and we stopped at two small towns, Melk and Duernstein. Mike went ashore to Melk, I stayed on the ship.
While he was wondering around, Mike saw a house with an air raid siren on the roof.
There is also a Benedictine Monestary in Melk.

For lunch, we had a "Taste of Germany" buffet on the sun deck. The crew were dressed in costumes. Most of the wait staff was wearing an apron and a Bavarian hat. The Hotel Manager was wearing Lederhosen. All of the ladies were wearing drindls. We had German "meatloaf" - a loaf made of minced pork, three different kinds of wurst, cold cuts, fried chicken, and two different kinds of desserts. Oh, and BIER!!
