Day Five - Passau

Everyone is getting into groups to leave for the walking tour. Viking provided bottled water and umbrellas for everyone. We went with the "leisurely tour" - the pokey puppies. We have these really cool listening devices that have a little earpeice. you turn it on and it automagically tunes to your guide's frequency, and you are able to hear everything the guide says. |

Passau is at the confluence of 3 rivers. as such, flooding is frequently an issue. In the picture of the house, look at the little white plaque between to the two windows. That marks the water level in 1955 when there was a flood. The second picture is a marking on the town hall that shows the water level for various floods. |

I found a yarn shop! Sadly, all they had was tons of Katia and Opel. I bought one skein of Online cotton blend for socks. |
