Day Eight - Vienna, Austria
We saw a beautiful church near the dock. |

During our tour, we went past the Spanish Riding School, home of the famous Lipizzaner Stallions. Unfortunately, we arrived too late to see the morning exercises and there was not a performance that day. We were able to see the horses in their stalls, and we visited the gift shop, of course! |
There was a beautiful cathedral undergoing some cleaning. The roof was colored tile, and so pretty. Look at the color of the (cleaned) front of the cathedral and the (dirty) sides - amazing! |
More rubber duckies! |
This is a wedding dress made entirely of fondant. There were matching shoes, too! |
This is a monument to all of the victims of the Black Death. |

While everyone else was off to a concert, we went to ride the Ferris Wheel and see Vienna at night. There is a small amusement park there. It was once the private hunting grounds of the king, and he turned it into a public park for all of the citizens of Vienna to enjoy. It reminded me of Tivoli Gardens in Copenhagen.
At the bottom of the Ferris Wheel, there was a room filled with the cute little red barn-like cars of the ride. Each car had a vignette of the park through time. There was a scene of the park in the beginning with everyone enjoying the park, a scene of the park having been bombed during WWII, and the rebuilding. |
